Hotpack hosts day out for 1,500 employees
DUBAI: On a morning when much of the world paused to honour the dignity of labour, Hotpack did something refreshingly simple: it took its workers to a garden.
Over 1,500 employees from the UAE-based packaging giant factory floor staff, warehouse teams, and operational crew alike gathered at Dubai Miracle Garden on International Workers’ Day, trading their usual routines for flowers, open skies, and a rare moment to just be.
For many of them, it wasn’t just a day off. It was an acknowledgment.
The company also handed each employee complimentary couple passes, valid through the end of the season, so they could bring someone they love back on their own time a gesture that felt less like corporate gifting and more like the company genuinely thinking it through.
Founder and Group CEO Abdul Jebbar PB put it plainly: “International Workers’ Day is a reminder to acknowledge every individual who contributes to our journey. By creating opportunities for families to come together, we hope to express our gratitude in a way that feels genuine and meaningful.”
That word genuine kept coming up. And in an era where employee wellness initiatives can feel like branded checkboxes, there was something grounded about the choice to simply send people somewhere beautiful with the people they love.
Group COO Zainudeen PB echoed that thinking. “We wanted to extend this experience to our employees and their families,” he said, “reflecting our belief that employee wellbeing goes beyond the workplace and is closely tied to the people they share their lives with.”
Group CTO Anvar PB pointed to something less tangible but perhaps more lasting the sense of belonging that tends to quietly build in moments like these. “Our workforce comes from diverse backgrounds,” he noted, “but what brings everyone together is our shared sense of purpose.”
Miracle Garden’s own CEO, Eng. Mohammed Zaher Hammadih, welcomed the crowd warmly. “We hope to leave a lasting impression,” he said, “by giving them the opportunity to unwind, connect with nature, and share valuable time together.”
The outing sits under Hotpack’s broader Happiness employee programme — an ongoing effort to weave mental wellness and work-life balance into the company’s everyday culture, not just its annual reports.
For the workers who spent the day walking among half a million blooms instead of monitoring production lines, the message likely landed without needing a press release to explain it.
Sometimes, the best thing a company can say to its people is: go be with yours.
