International Workers Day: Dubai to Host Wide-Ranging Celebrations
DUBAI: Dubai will celebrate International Workers Day on May 1, 2026 with large-scale events to honor and support workers. These events are being organized by General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai in partnership with the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs.


Event Details
The main programs will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and workers can join both in-person and online. To participate, workers can register through the “Blue Connect” mobile app, available on Android and iOS. The app also allows workers to enter raffles and win exciting prizes.
Activities and Highlights
- Fun sports and entertainment programs will be held at workers’ accommodations
- Special “Recognition Visits” will honor outstanding workers at their workplaces
- More than 100 valuable prizes will be distributed through lucky draws

Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Assistant Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of PCLA, said that workers are a key part of Dubai’s success. He stressed that their well-being and happiness are top priorities.

Omar Matter Al Mehairi, Assistant Director of the Labor Relations Sector, added that Dubai continues to provide safe and respectful working conditions. He explained that these celebrations are a way to thank workers and highlight the city’s focus on better housing, healthcare, and legal protection.
