SAU to Host First International Conference on Women Empowerment in Agriculture from January 15 Tandojam
Tandojam,Sindh – Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam, in collaboration with the Sindh Agriculture Women Development Organization, is set to host the first-ever International Conference on Agriculture Development and Women Empowerment (ICWADE-2025). The conference will take place on January 15-16, 2025, and aims to promote women’s empowerment in sustainable agriculture.
The event will bring together renowned female experts, researchers, and leaders from various sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by women in agricultural development. Distinguished speakers will share their experiences and insights during dedicated sessions, paving the way for a practical framework to enhance women’s empowerment in the agricultural domain.
The primary objectives of the conference include addressing the challenges women face in agriculture, highlighting their critical roles and responsibilities, and advocating for policies and programs that enable women’s autonomy through modern solutions.
In preparation for the event, a meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Marri was held, attended by key faculty members including Dr. Aijaz Soomro, Dr. Shabana Memon, Dr. Mahmooda Buriro, and Dr. Aasia Akbar Panhwar. The attendees agreed on the formation of committees to ensure the event’s success.
The conference will feature various technical sessions, exhibitions, and activities aimed at identifying actionable solutions to the challenges faced by women in agriculture and providing opportunities for their advancement.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Marri emphasized the importance of empowering women in agriculture to improve food security globally. He expressed confidence that the conference would significantly contribute to achieving gender equality and the targeted outcomes in the agricultural sector.
