Windows 11 to get same embellishments being tested on Windows 10
Great news for Microsoft enthusiasts as the tech giant has announced that users of Windows 11 will receive the same decorations for the lock screen as are being tested for Windows 10.
These decorations are essentially small lock screen cards that show different bits of information about traffic, weather, finances and sports scores.
TechRadar, citing reports from the trustworthy Windows leaker PhantomOfEarth, reported that Microsoft is currently rolling out these embellishments in the Release Preview channel for Windows 11 test builds, as previously noticed on X (formerly Twitter).
These lock screen cards, that will be coming to Windows 11 as well, are rolling out in 22631.3371 (KB5035942).
The cards are currently in testing and their functionality is similar to Windows 10, allowing users to turn off or enable them. However, users cannot choose which cards are shown.
For example, if you’d like to disable the finance card, you will not be able to do it. However, if you don’t like the idea of these lock screen cards at all, you can simply turn them off.
PhantomOfEarth first made notice of the cards in testing, but Windows Latest also noticed and claimed that this feature is a part of the optional March 2024 upgrade.
As a result, it will be completely disseminated out in the cumulative update that comes out the next month.
