Liberian Minister of Interior Visits Dubai Police General HQ

Liberian Minister of Interior, Honorable Varney Ali Sirleaf, earlier today (Thursday) visited the Dubai Police General Headquarters, where he was warmly welcomed by Major General Ahmed Mohamed Rafi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administrative Affairs, along with Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations, Major General Dr. Tareq Tahlk, Director of Naif Police Station, Brigadier Sheikh Abdullah Mohamed Al Muala, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, and several other high-ranking officers.

At the beginning of the visit, Major General Ahmed Rafi expressed Dubai Police’s commitment to exchanging expertise and transferring experiences across various fields with law enforcement institutions and police departments, in line with the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He emphasized the importance of enhancing international relations and partnerships in this regard.

During the visit, Major General Ahmed Rafi led Honorable Varney Ali Sirleaf on a tour of the Dubai Police headquarters. The tour began with a visit to the Security Media Department, where they learned about the “UAE SWAT l Challenge.” This major sporting event is designed to exchange expertise between special and tactical units from around the world and explore best practices to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and readiness.

The Liberian Minister of Interior was also briefed on the various competitions within the “UAE SWAT Challenge,” which includes five events: Hostage Rescue Challenge, Assault Challenge, Officer Rescue Challenge, Tower Challenge, and Obstacle Course Challenge.

Following this, Honorable Varney Ali Sirleaf visited the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations. He was introduced to the department’s work system, the latest services, and initiatives to enhance security and safety in the emirate. Additionally, he learned about the centre’s advanced facilities and recent additions, including the 3D map, patrol management and monitoring system, and the technologies and tools supporting the rapid response to reports and emergency calls.

The Liberian Minister of Interior also visited the Smart Police Station (SPS) in the City Walk area, where he was briefed on the various services provided by the station to the public. These services include a range of criminal, traffic, and community services available 24/7 without human intervention, eliminating the need to visit traditional police stations.

At the conclusion of the visit, Honorable Varney Ali Sirleaf expressed his gratitude to the Dubai Police for their warm reception and praised the technical advancements and smart services offered by the police force to the community.
