Nizami Brothers Set to Bring Qawwali Magic to Dubai for the First Time

Dubai: There’s something deeply moving about the sound of Qawwali the kind that doesn’t just fill a room but seems to reach somewhere much further inside you. And this June, Dubai is about to find out exactly what that feels like.

Akbar Nizami and Gufran Nizami beloved across the world simply as the Nizami Brothers are finally bringing their legendary voices to the UAE for the very first time. Mark your calendars for 27 June 2026, when Emirates Theatre will open its doors at 6:30 PM for what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated cultural evenings this city has seen in a long time.

The brothers don’t just perform Qawwali they carry it. Rooted in the historic Sikandrabad Gharana, their lineage connects directly to the spiritual world of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and Hazrat Ameer Khusro, a tradition stretching back more than 700 years. That’s not just musical heritage that’s a living, breathing piece of history stepping onto a Dubai stage.

Their training speaks for itself. Schooled under the late Ustad Ghulam Sabir Nizami and the revered Padma Bhushan Ustad Altaf Hussain Khan Sahab of the Khurja Gharana, the duo has clocked over 4,000 concerts across India and on international stages spanning the Middle East, UK, Europe, Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Among their proudest achievements and it’s quite a list the Nizami Brothers hold the distinction of being the first Indian Qawwals to ever perform at the Royal Albert Hall. They’ve also graced prestigious stages at WOMAD Festival, Ruhaniyat Festival, and the Qutub Festival, earning standing ovations from audiences who may have never heard Qawwali before but left completely transformed.

You’ve likely heard their voices even without realising it. Soulful classics like Sone Ke Kalas Wale Khwaja and Shahe Madina both released through powerhouse labels T-Series and Tips Music have found their way into the hearts of millions.

This Dubai evening promises powerful vocals, centuries-old spiritual poetry, and the kind of raw, live Qawwali energy that simply cannot be replicated on a screen.
