IWPG Global Region 2 Collaborates with Lebanese NGO ‘HDA’ on Women’s Peace Education

Customized peace education for Lebanon to be promoted… Expected to expand a culture of peace based on women’s leadership
DUBAI 04-02-2026:The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 2 (Director Seoyeon Lee) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in peace education with the Lebanese humanitarian organization “Himaya Daeem Aataa Association (HDA)” on the 12th.
The signing ceremony took place at the East Lounge of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, during the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70).

About Himaya Daeem Aataa Association (HDA)
Humanitarian Efforts and Focus Areas
HDA is a Lebanese humanitarian NGO established in 2000 and based in Zgharta in northern Lebanon. The organization focuses on:
- Protecting women’s rights
- Addressing gender-based violence (GBV)
- Supporting vulnerable populations
International Collaborations and Impact
Through partnerships with organizations such as UNICEF and the European Union (EU), HDA has:
- Promoted refugee assistance programs
- Led community development initiatives
- Strengthened protection for women and children
Additionally HDA has built a strong national network by collaborating with approximately 300 organizations.

This agreement aims to promote a culture of peace and strengthen women’s rights in Lebanon a country facing ongoing conflict and social tensions.

Under this agreement both organizations will collaborate in the following areas:
- Implementing tailored peace education programs in Lebanon
- Conducting capacity-building programs for women and children
- Proposing peace-related policies to the international community
