Dubai: Dubai New Year celebration for the workforce was organized to welcome the New Year with enthusiasm and optimism, as the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) hosted grand celebrations across the Emirate. The two-day event was held in collaboration with the Dubai Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, reflecting the practical implementation of the “Year of Community” initiative.

The celebrations witnessed the participation of tens of thousands of workers from various nationalities, transforming the event into a vibrant festival of joy, unity, and friendship. The main celebration venue at al quoz featured Bollywood stars, live performances by popular music bands, energetic shows by international dance troupes, and traditional folk art forms representing different countries.

Bollywood actresses Zareen Khan, Poonam Pandey, Aneri Vajani, and Tanya Desai graced the stage, while renowned singers Sneha Upadhyay and Ankush Bhardwaj entertained the audience. DJ Tasya Stepanova’s dynamic performance further enhanced the festive atmosphere, turning New Year’s Eve into a memorable cultural celebration.

One of the key highlights of the event was the distribution of prizes worth over AED 500,000 through lucky draws. The prizes included cars, gold coins, gold bars, mobile phones, and travel tickets. To ensure inclusive participation, online access was also provided for workers who could not attend in person. Through the “Blue Connect” application, live streaming, and digital engagement platforms, workers were able to follow the programs and take part in the prize draws remotely.

In addition to al quoz ,New Year celebrations were organized at several labor accommodations across Dubai, including Jebel Ali and Muhaisnah. At the main venue alone, more than 20,000 workers from countries such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and several African nations took part. The celebrations, which began at 6:00 pm on December 31, continued until midnight. Overall participation, both on-site and online, exceeded 50,000, according to GDRFA Dubai.

Senior officials of GDRFA Dubai and representatives of sponsoring organizations attended the celebrations. Officials noted that this marked the third consecutive year of organizing large-scale New Year celebrations for the workforce. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stated that the event symbolizes respect and appreciation for the workforce that has contributed tirelessly to Dubai’s development.

Free registration enabled workers to participate in all programs and prize draws. Comprehensive security and logistical arrangements were ensured through coordinated efforts by Dubai Police, Civil Defense, ambulance teams, Dubai Municipality, and volunteers.

The New Year celebrations were widely regarded as a reflection of care, respect, and recognition for the hardworking workforce of Dubai. By offering workers a joyful and confident start to the New Year, the initiative once again highlighted Dubai’s strong humanitarian values and community-centered vision, GDRFA Dubai added.
