Kuwait Gears Up for the DP World ILT20 Development Tournament – A Gateway to Global Cricket

Kuwait: Kuwait Cricket Board is proud to announce that it will host its first ever DP World ILT20 Development Tournament – Kuwait, set to commence in September 2025 at the picturesque Sulaibiya Cricket Ground.

This landmark tournament forms a strategic pathway for Kuwait’s top talent to potentially secure a place in the globally renowned DP World ILT20—scheduled to be held in Dubai this December 2025.

With DP World ILT20’s global reputation for attracting international superstars and delivering world-class cricket, this Development Tournament in Kuwait serves as a lifetime career-changing opportunity for local players to showcase their skills on a global platform of franchise league cricket.

The DP World ILT20 tournament in Kuwait will feature four competitive teams (Boubyan Warriors, Failaika Guardians, Pearl Strikers and Kuwait Falcons) with a total of 60 players, including 19 contracted national team players, 10 junior emerging stars, and a strong pool of domestic players selected by the High Performance Committee based on relevant KPI’s.

A total of 14 high-intensity matches will be played throughout the tournament, giving every player ample opportunity to shine and make their case for the big stage.

The excitement begins tomorrow as the full list of the selected players for the official draft will be announced here on KCC social media platforms followed by the head coaches, captains and managers for each team on the 7th of August.

A 15-member squad will be selected by each team’s respective head coach, captain & manager during the official draft scheduled for the 8th of August at Sulaibiya Cricket Ground.
