Global Village Opens Season 31 With 600-Drone Display and Cultural Parade

DUBAI, UAE: Global Village welcomed visitors for the opening of its 31st season on 14 October, marking the occasion with a cultural parade, a special choir performance and a night-sky display featuring 600 drones.

The Parade of the World brought performers representing different cultures into the opening ceremony, followed by confetti, streamers and special effects as guests gathered to watch.

For the first time at a Global Village opening-day ceremony, a choir performed “We Stand With You”, a song celebrating the UAE, alongside the destination’s official song, “Together”.

Visitors returned to familiar dining outlets, browsed shops across the pavilions and explored the park’s attractions. Families and friends also attended Main Stage performances and children’s shows at the Kids’ Theatre.

The entertainment programme included the new stunt show, “Fast Live 2: The Police Strike Back”, along with cultural showcases in the pavilions and roaming street performances. A laser show at Dragon Lake was also part of the opening-day line-up.

Later, 600 drones illuminated the sky in a display celebrating the start of Season 31. The show highlighted elements of the Global Village experience, including shopping, dining and entertainment.

The season is now underway, with returning attractions and new entertainment accompanying the destination’s cultural pavilions, retail outlets and food offerings.
