UAE Hosts Pakistan, Afghanistan in T20 Tri-Series
Dubai, UAE – Cricket fans are in for a thrilling treat as the United Arab Emirates is set to host a high-voltage T20I Tri-Series featuring Pakistan and Afghanistan later this month. All matches will be held at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with the series scheduled to begin on Friday, 29 August, and the final taking place on Sunday, 7 September.
The seven-match tournament will see each team — Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE — face each other twice in the group stage, making up six matches in total. The top two teams will then battle it out in the final under the Sharjah floodlights.
Afghanistan will kick off the tournament against Pakistan on 29 August. The following evening, Pakistan will return to action against the host nation UAE. The action continues into September, with Afghanistan taking on UAE on Monday, 1 September, and then facing Pakistan again on Tuesday, 2 September.
Pakistan will meet UAE once more on Thursday, 4 September, before the group stage concludes with Afghanistan facing UAE again on Friday, 5 September. The final between the top two sides is set for Sunday, 7 September, with all matches beginning at 7:00 PM local time.
The series will serve as crucial preparation for all three sides ahead of the much-anticipated ACC Asia Cup 2025, which begins in the UAE on 9 September and will feature eight teams from across the continent.
