Pakistani President recognises UAE relief efforts to assist Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Arif Alvi, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, has recognised the UAE’s efforts to assist Pakistan and its people through significant humanitarian and relief support, particularly following numerous natural disasters that struck the country.

Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, Consul-General of the UAE in Karachi, was presented with a diplomatic award in recognition of the UAE’s aid and relief efforts in Pakistan.

The award was presented at a ceremony organised by the Saylani International Trust and Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing, and held in the presence of Kamran Tessori, Governor of Sindh province.

During the ceremony, the UAE’s efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to families in need throughout Pakistan were highlighted, including through initiatives to provide safe drinking water and establish mobile healthcare clinics in the Sindh and Baluchistan provinces.

The ceremony also commemorated the UAE leadership’s solidarity with the Pakistani people in addressing the impact of earthquakes and floods that struck the country, as well as in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
