Pakistani Community in UAE Observes Kashmir Solidarity Day

An event was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi to observe ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’. People from different walks of life attended the event. Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi Ambassador of Pakistan to UAE presided over the event. Special messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out during the event.
In his address, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi reaffirmed unwavering support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Ambassador Tirmizi said that the tragedy of the Kashmiris goes back to more than 7 decades as they have faced unabated repression and consistent denial of their fundamental rights by India. The human rights situation in IIOJK has further worsened following India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019. India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 were manifestly anti peace and against international lawincluding the UN charter, UN Security Council Resolutions and the 4th Geneva Convention.
Ambassador Tirmizi reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance to seek peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute and reiterated the strong resolve of the government and people of Pakistan to continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brethren. He called the international community for a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
During the event, a documentary was shown depicting the gross human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces in Kashmir. A photo exhibition was also arranged on the sidelines of the event. At the end of the event, special prayers were offered for the Kashmiri martyrs and for an early resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.
