UAE Leaders Extend Warm Congratulations to Emir of Kuwait on 65th National Day and Liberation Day
Abu Dhabi, 25 February 2026 — The United Arab Emirates today conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the Emir of Kuwait on the occasion of his country’s 65th National Day and Liberation Day, underscoring the enduring friendship and strong bilateral ties between the two Gulf nations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, issued a warm message to Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, celebrating the joint occasion that marks both Kuwait’s National Day and the anniversary of its Liberation from occupation.
In his message, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed praised the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Kuwait, highlighting that the two countries share a longstanding brotherly bond built on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared aspirations for regional peace, stability, and prosperity. He wished continued progress, security, and prosperity for Kuwait’s leadership and people under the wise guidance of the Emir.

“Every year, Kuwait’s leadership and people are in good health. Every year, Kuwait is more secure and safe, stable and prosperous under the leadership of my brother, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah,” the President wrote on social media, reflecting the strength of the UAE–Kuwait partnership.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also highlighted that the fraternal relationship continues to grow stronger, with cooperation spanning political, economic, cultural, and social sectors. The two nations have worked closely within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other GCC-led initiatives to promote unity and shared development.
In a similar spirit, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, sent messages of congratulations to both the Emir and the Prime Minister of Kuwait, reaffirming the resolve for enhanced cooperation and mutual support.
The congratulatory messages come as Kuwait marks another milestone in its national history. Kuwait’s National Day on February 25 commemorates the anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah’s accession as ruler in 1950, an event that symbolizes Kuwait’s sovereignty and identity. Liberation Day, observed close to National Day, celebrates the end of the 1991 Gulf War occupation and Kuwait’s restoration of independence.
Over recent months, ties between the UAE and Kuwait have been further strengthened through cultural and media collaborations, including the UAE–Kuwait Media Celebration hosted by the Dubai Press Club, which showcased ongoing cooperative efforts and initiatives in cultural and media sectors.
The mutual greetings on this dual occasion reflect not only commemorative goodwill between the leaderships but also highlight deep-seated historical connections, strategic partnership, and collective aspirations for progress and stability within the Gulf region.
