GDRFA Dubai’s Eid Al-Adha Celebration Draws Record Engagement with 151,000 Live Views and 400 Prizes
Dubai, UAE – The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) successfully wrapped up its “Eid Al-Adha – Let’s Celebrate Together” initiative, marking an unprecedented turnout with over 151,000 live stream views and 400 prizes distributed across labor housing areas in Dubai.
Held on June 6 and 7, 2025, the event was part of Community Year 2025 initiatives, blending digital and on-ground festivities to foster unity and joy among Dubai’s diverse workforce.
A Celebration of Unity and Joy
The festivities began with Eid prayers attended by 9,000 workers, symbolizing solidarity and gratitude. Live performances in Al Quoz entertained thousands from 6:00 PM to midnight, featuring cultural shows by artists from various backgrounds.
Meanwhile, the digital platform saw massive engagement, with 42,000 participants joining from the UAE and abroad between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The live stream garnered 151,000+ views, with 1,000+ live comments and 3,000 new participants joining virtually.

Prizes Worth Over AED 500,000 Distributed
The event concluded with 400 prizes, including cars, smartphones, gold bars, travel tickets, and shopping vouchers, totaling more than AED 500,000. Notably, 140 prizes were awarded through an electronic draw, with winners receiving their rewards at their residences—a gesture highlighting GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to impactful community engagement.
Leadership Highlights Success
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stated: “When an initiative begins with Eid prayers and ends with genuine happiness, we’re not just organizing an event—we’re creating a cherished social memory.”
Colonel Omar Matar Al Muzeina, Assistant Director General for Labor Relations, praised the spontaneous public response as a “strong indicator of success,” emphasizing GDRFA’s efforts to bring Eid celebrations directly to workers’ communities.

GDRFA Dubai extended thanks to its strategic partner, the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, and sponsors including du, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Al Fattan, and flydubai. Humanitarian contributions from Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, and others were also acknowledged.
