GDRFA Dubai, Transguard Group sign MoU to enhance worker welfare

Dubai: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday between Transguard Group and the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai.

The agreement, inked by Sheikh Ahmed on behalf of Transguard Group and Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, aims to bolster cooperation in organising and supporting labour-related initiatives across the emirate.

The partnership is designed to enhance the welfare and legal status of workers from distressed companies, aligning with government directives and Dubai’s vision for an inclusive and sustainable society.

Sheikh Ahmed emphasised the importance of such partnerships in driving social development. “This agreement reflects our ongoing commitment to the UAE’s vision for inclusive growth and social development,” he said. “As Dubai continues to evolve as a global hub for innovation and opportunity, partnerships like this ensure that every member of our society is supported, empowered and celebrated.”

The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for joint planning, implementation, and support of annual labour initiatives. It also includes provisions for knowledge sharing and training programmes to enhance awareness of labour rights among the workforce.

Lieutenant General Al Marri commented on the partnership, stating: “This partnership with Transguard Group represents a continuation of that mission — uniting institutional expertise and societal responsibility to strengthen labour welfare, protect workers’ rights, and foster a cohesive and inclusive community that reflects Dubai’s leadership vision for human dignity, stability, and progress.”
