The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) officially began its “Closer to You” initiative at Global Village, marking the launch of a strategic community-focused campaign aimed at bringing government services closer to the public and strengthening trust through direct engagement.

The first edition of the initiative commenced at one of Dubai’s most popular family destinations and will continue until 5 February 2026. The platform was introduced as an open community space that combined service delivery, awareness, and interactive experiences, reflecting the UAE’s people-first approach and GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to enhancing quality of life.

The “Closer to You” initiative featured an integrated platform comprising multiple informational zones, allowing visitors to explore a wide range of GDRFA Dubai services. These included Entry Permit and Golden Residency services, Identity and Nationality services, Work Permit services, Children’s Passport Control, the 04 Platform, the Red Carpet Corridor, and the Happiness Card. Services were delivered through a seamless, customer-centric experience designed to simplify procedures and enhance accessibility.

Adopting a family-oriented and interactive approach, the initiative offered engaging activities, educational games, and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. Daily surprises and weekly prize draws further enriched the visitor experience, creating a dynamic community environment that encouraged positive interaction.

Through its direct presence at Global Village, the “Closer to You” initiative underscored GDRFA Dubai’s vision of moving beyond traditional service delivery to building sustainable relationships with the community. The initiative emphasized active listening and meaningful engagement, contributing to increased levels of satisfaction, happiness, and trust in government institutions.
