Dubai Police Honours Winners of the 40th Annual Ramadan Religious Competition

In a ceremony presided over by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the 40th Annual Ramadan Religious Competition winners were honoured. The event, organized by the Dubai Police General Command, aims to promote religious awareness and elevate the cultural and intellectual level of participants, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.

Al Marri stated that the Dubai Police has given special attention to the Ramadan competitions every year since they were first introduced in 1983. These competitions have a positive impact on the lives of employees, providing them with an understanding of the noble Islamic values, virtues of good morals, tolerance, honesty, dedication, teamwork, impartiality, justice, and transparency.

The ceremony, held at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club, celebrated the winners of the competition, with total prizes worth AED 200,000, covering three categories: Quran, Hadith, and Cultural.

Men & Women Categories:

Al Marri honoured the top three winners of both genders in the “Distinguished Memorizer” category for memorizing 10 parts (juz’) of the Quran, the top three winners for memorizing 4 parts (juz’), the top three winners for memorizing 3 parts (juz’), the top three winners for memorizing 2 parts (juz’), the top three winners for memorizing 1 part (juz’), the top three winners for the most beautiful recitation of the Quran, the top three male winners in the Hadith competition, and the top three winners in the religious cultural competition.

General Departments Category:

Al Marri also honoured the general departments and police stations that achieved the highest awards at the men’s level in the three competition categories. Out of 49 participating departments and stations, the first place was awarded to the General Department of Airports Security, the second place to the General Department of Criminal Investigations, and the third place to the General Department of Operations.

The 40th Edition

This year’s competition witnessed a significant turnout of registrants from various categories. A total of 177 male and female participants, including people of determination, from the Dubai Police registered for the Quran memorization and recitation competition. In addition, 43 students from the Hemaya Schools participated, and the opportunity was also extended to 50 inmates in the remand prisons.

As for the Hadith competition, 55 participants from men, women, and people of determination within the Dubai Police registered, along with 440 participants in the cultural competition.
