Dubai Police Conclude Participation at Arabian Travel Market 2023

On the final day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to providing smart and innovative security services to the emirate’s tourists and visitors.

Al Marri made the remarks as he inspected the force’s stand at ATM 2023. He was accompanied by Major General Ali Ateeq Bin Lahej, Director of the General Department of Airports Security, Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, and several officers and personnel.

Al Marri also commended the efforts and services showcased at the exhibition, which aim to raise awareness about security services related to the tourism sector. He emphasized the importance of the Arabian Travel Market for Dubai Police, considering the emirate’s global reputation as a leader in attracting people of diverse nationalities for living and investing.

Dubai Police Museum

During his tour, Al Marri reviewed the services and teams related concerned with the tourism sector, including a presentation on the Dubai Police Museum. The museum offers visitors an exceptional experience, highlighting the rich history of security personnel and the achievements of the Dubai Police over the decades in various security and societal fields. Visitors can also virtually explore the museum at the exhibition stand, where they can learn about the history and accomplishments of the Dubai Police.

Esaad Privilege Card

His Excellency also reviewed the achievements of the Esaad Card Centre, which provides exclusive offers in ten sectors, including tourism, travel, dining, entertainment, e-commerce, retail, health, sports, housing, family, education, automotive, and public sector.

Al Assas Unit

Lt. General Al Marri met the “Al Assas” unit, which represents the history of the Dubai Police, wearing uniforms dating back more than half a century and carrying traditional weapons such as the “Kand” used to protect the community and combat crime.

Bicycle Patrols

He also listened to a presentation about the Bicycle Team, which plays a vital role in enhancing security and safety in Dubai. The team secures events, celebrations, and activities throughout the emirate. The importance of the Bicycle Team lies in their ability to reach all locations quickly, overcome traffic congestion and narrow spaces, and enhance police presence and communication with the public as they are stationed across tourist sites, commercial centres, markets, beaches, and water channels.

The Resilience Centre

The platform also showcased information about the Resilience Centre in Dubai Police, which specializes in procedures that enhance resilience and reduce risks. The centre confirms to visitors Dubai’s high resilience in dealing with various emergencies and crises, thanks to the city’s advanced infrastructure. Dubai has won the “Model City in the Field of Resilience, Intelligence, and Sustainability” award, presented by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. This award is granted to the best cities in the world for efficient procedures that enhance resilience and reduce risks. Dubai has been ranked as the first resilience centre globally and is the only city to receive this honour among 56 ranked cities and 4,357 cities competing for the award.

Inmates Products

The stand also displayed products made by inmates of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police. These products are produced by the inmates themselves as part of the professional programs of the correctional institutions and are showcased by Dubai Police at external exhibitions and within community events and initiatives. This enables inmates to support themselves in the future with lawful projects that keep them away from wrongdoing and reintegrate them into society.

Entertainment, Awareness and More 

Visitors had a fantastic opportunity to watch daily performances of the Dubai Police K9 security inspection dogs in detecting drugs and explosives, as well as performances by the musical band of the Dubai Police Academy. The stand also offered visitors the chance to join daily educational awareness workshops, which included information about tourist police services and their role in promoting tourism, e-Crime service, lost and found system, and Smart Police Station (SPS) services. The number of workshop beneficiaries exceeded 300 people of various nationalities.

The stand also held daily contests during the exhibition on Dubai Police’s social media accounts, with winners receiving valuable prizes such as smart devices, tourist trips, and stays in resorts and hotels.
