Colorful Eid: Dubai GDRFA Organizes Mega Eid Celebration for Workers

Dubai, UAE – The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) hosted a massive Eid al-Adha celebration for thousands of workers, recognizing their vital role in the emirate’s development. The two-day event, held under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together,” saw over 42,000 participants enjoying festivities, cultural performances, and lucrative prizes worth nearly half a million dirhams.

Lavish Prizes & Star-Studded Performances

Workers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Nepal took part in the celebrations at Al Quoz, where they stood a chance to win cars, gold bars, return flight tickets, and AED 500 vouchers. The event also featured performances by Bollywood stars, adding to the festive spirit.

Officials Praise Workers’ Contributions

Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Assistant Director General of GDRFA Dubai, emphasized that the event was a gesture of appreciation for the labor community’s dedication to Dubai’s progress. Colonel Omar Matar Khamees Matar Al Mezaina, Assistant Director General for Labor Relations, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to gratitude and inclusivity, ensuring workers could celebrate Eid with joy and camaraderie.

Government & Humanitarian Support

The celebration was made possible with the collaboration of key entities, including Dubai Police, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and several humanitarian organizations like the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment. GDRFA Dubai also facilitated Eid prayers for workers on the morning of Eid al-Adha.

This grand event underscores Dubai’s appreciation for its expatriate workforce, reinforcing the emirate’s values of unity and gratitude.
