Sharjah Cementing Global Digital Model at GITEX 2025
Dubai, UAE – The Government of Sharjah has reaffirmed its status as a global leader in human-centered digital governance, drawing significant attention on the fourth day of GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai. The emirate’s pavilion attracted a stream of VIPs, industry experts, and media representatives eager to explore cutting-edge innovations that promise to shape the cities of the future.
Sharjah’s presentation highlighted a core vision: using advanced technology—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT)—to strengthen community connection and enhance social well-being. The showcased projects redefine the relationship between government and society by placing people at the centre of sustainable urban planning and service enhancement.
High-Profile Endorsements
The pavilion was honoured by the presence of numerous high-profile visitors and government leaders, welcomed by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah Digital Department, and Eng. Lamia Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Director of SDD.
Among the distinguished guests were Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence – Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; and Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority. Also attending was Robert Raines, Consul General of the United States of America in Dubai, underscoring the international interest in Sharjah’s digital strategy.
Innovative Digital Solutions Unveiled
Several key projects demonstrating the emirate’s commitment to digital excellence were launched:
Remote Company Formation (Visual Intelligence)
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority unveiled its Remote Company Formation (Visual Intelligence) project. This initiative, part of the Smart Cities ecosystem, allows global investors to establish companies entirely remotely. It leverages the Vision Large Language Model (Vision LLM) and AI to verify identities and documents via live video calls, significantly simplifying and accelerating business registration while expanding global accessibility.
‘Bo’d’ for Sustainable Infrastructure
The Sharjah Department of Public Works introduced ‘Bo’d’ (meaning ‘dimension’ or ‘distance’), an integrated platform for real-time monitoring and management of government buildings. The system tracks energy consumption, carbon footprint, and operational performance, generating predictive alerts and automatic reporting to boost efficiency and sustainability across the emirate.
‘Safe Digital Life Ambassadors’
Under the ‘Our Humanity ecosystem,’ the Sharjah Social Services Department launched the ‘Safe Digital Life Ambassadors’ project. This initiative empowers children as peer educators to promote digital well-being and online safety. The program uses generative AI to provide interactive learning materials and a family-oriented GenAI companion, offering reliable guidance to both children and parents on responsible technology use.
‘Muwasat’ Bereavement Service

The pavilion also showcased ‘Muwasat’ (meaning ‘compassion’), a unified digital initiative developed in collaboration with 13 strategic partners to streamline and enhance the management of bereavement procedures. The project aims to combine efficiency with compassion, easing the burden on bereaved families and reflecting the UAE’s vision for human-centred government services.
Digital Talent Honoured
The day concluded with the honouring of the winners of the Sharjah Digital Hackathon, held in collaboration with the Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Science and Technology and the Sharjah Youth Council.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi expressed his pride in the Emirati talent, noting their ability to design AI-driven digital solutions for real-world challenges.
“The ideas and projects presented at the Hackathon mark the beginning of a new era of collaboration and continuous innovation,” Sheikh Saud stated. “Sharjah continues to set a global example in digital excellence and innovation by transforming ideas into practical projects that enhance service efficiency and harness AI to advance infrastructure development.”
The Government of Sharjah’s presence at GITEX Global 2025 reinforced its commitment to transforming data into actionable value, cementing its model of interconnected digital governance where technology ultimately serves people and empowers a sustainable future.
